What is the Current Standard for Electrical Installations in Britain
The current standard for electrical installations in Britain is BS 7671: 2008 Requirements for Electrical Installations (IEE Wiring Regulations 17th Edition).
These regulations came into effect on 1 July 2008. Installations designed after 30 June 2008 are to comply with BS 7671: 2008. Installations designed to BS 7671:2001 prior to 1st July 2008 can be completed in accordance with this earlier edition.
